Lilli Lanier was born and raised in San Francisco. She attended the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts and graduated from California College of the Arts in 2007 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts Degree. She works in a variety of mediums including origami, paint, wood, clay and metal. For the past fifteen years, she has taught art to incarcerated youth throughout the Bay Area and has been an artist in residence at public schools in San Francisco. She also teaches workshops at museums, libraries and community centers throughout the Bay Area. In January 2018, she was honored by the Golden State Warriors and received the NBA Walmart Community Playmaker Award.
